Meeting called to order 7:35 p.m. Motion by Linda to approve minutes, 2nd Emilu, passed 7/0 Motion by Linda that TC approve the offer from the Women’s Club to pay Mike Harris $1225.00 for building repairs, 2nd Emilu passed 7/0 Treasurer’s report – Rosemary reported that as of October our cash reserves were $204,720.00 of that amount we used $19,785 in the month of November. Our cash reserves are now $184,934. They are low because it is the end of the year. Restaurant inventory is off, but will be corrected by January. Water – Linda reported that Dwayne Cooper would be having surgery on Friday. One major break in the line @ Runner & Chickadee this past weekend, all has been fixed. Golf – Don reported that someone had offered to purchase our 5-gang mower. Cost of repairing this piece of equipment would be over $4500. Motion by Don to sell the 5-gang mower for $500. No second, discussion tabled until a later date. Beaches – No formal report given Tennis – Rhett reported that use of the courts has been down due to the weather. Rhett & Shirley are paying the price of the tennis pro. We will be having some tournaments in the near future. Budget – Gayle Gray announced the members of the committee that will be investigating the increase of dues. The committee met with the auditor this past Sunday. We have not had a dues increase since 1990, it is imperative that TC have a dues increase. Gayle advised that TC would be working towards a vote in April. Office – Emilu reported that Gwen Highsmith will be moving to Cartersville in January, and will no longer be employed by TC. Carol Norton has been hired to take her place and has already begun training. Emilu has been reviewing financials with the TC staff, & showing them how their department impacts TC’s revenue. User fees- TC will not be raising user fees for the year 2007. Only minor changes were made. A proposal was made to decrease the # of eligible users that a property owner can list on their membership. You must claim a person on your income taxes in order to put them on your user sheet. Daily use fee for pool has been changed, children under 4 free, 4-12 $2.00/person & over 12 $3.00/person. The swim/tennis package has been eliminated; they are only available as separate packages. Decals are only mandatory on a vehicle when they are parked on the beaches. Decals will now cost $5.00 for members & must be permanently adhered to your vehicle; there will be passes available for parties on the beaches. If any property owner wants to challenge late fees that have been assessed to them, the property owner must request a hearing before the BOD A&E- Nancy Fontaine reported there was one new build & 2 closings in November. November has been fairly quiet. More greenbelt signs have been posted along the lake view lots. Down to 3 grandfathered docks left & one is up for sale. Community Relations- Emilu read a thank you note for the JLVFD & a thank you note from Rhett Glover. Richard Oaks passed away yesterday morning. Pool- No formal report given Restaurant – Linda reported that we had a pretty good month in the restaurant in November Legal – Kathy reported that we have one legal item pending (Crawford III) Our attorneys have responded to the questions brought up by the committee that was formed to check into selling of TC lots. Entertainment – Linda reported that Santa Claus is coming on Saturday from 1:30 – 3:00 followed by a movie in the lounge. New Year’s Eve party coming soon, tickets still available. Security – Arnold reported that Sheriff Roper is doing all he can possibly do to stop the stealing of the street signs. Arnold advised property owners to be sure to take all security measures possible concerning your home during the Christmas season. Comments from the floor – Several property owners expressed their concerns with changing the wording of the user sheets to read, persons whom you claim on your taxes. They felt this was a bad idea, and would prohibit TC to pass a dues increase. Electronic vote 12/15/2006 Motion by Linda to change the definition of eligible family members to mean members of the immediate family that are on the members’ tax forms. 2nd Don, Vote – 3 in favor, 5 opposed, 1 abstention. Motion did not carry. Member User Forms will maintain the following wording for 2007: SHALL INCLUDE MEMBERS SPOUSE, CHILDREN, PARENTS AND GRANDCHILDREN.
