VOLUNTEERS AT TURTLE COVE

The Board of Directors at Turtle Cove actively recruit volunteers from our membership of property owners to examine issues, gather information, participate in democratic process with other committee members, form recommendations and present those recommendations to the Board of Directors for consideration.

COMMITTEE GUIDELINES:
  1. Projects that deal with member-specific issues require committee members to also be property owners. (Amenity Holders can participate when projects are not “member-specific.”)
  2. Open Committees welcome all participants interested in the issue-at-hand.  
  3. Democratic Process is followed – everyone gets their “say” but not everyone will get their “way.”  (Majority opinion rules.)
  4. Recommendations are based on careful evaluation of information gathered, input from TC staff members (when appropriate), and coordinated with the Board Liaison assigned to the committee.
  5. Members of committees share leadership.  Although a Committee Chair is determined, all members of the committee are responsible for the project.  

Since July 2006 these issues have been investigated, considered, and resulted in recommendations to the Board of Directors:  

GOLF - dress code
BUDGET – operating within annual budget limits
BUDGET - preservation of Reserve Funds  
FOOD & BEVERAGE - increasing profitability
ADMINISTRATION - timely reporting of monthly Income/Expense documents
ADMINISTRATION - update of property ownership (data base)
LEGAL - timely filing of liens
LEGAL - improvement to collections process.

During the coming months the following issues (among others) will be investigated, considered, and brought to the Board of Directors via recommendations:

ADMINISTRATION - definition of “members” eligible to include on annual Members User Sheet

FOOD & BEVERAGE - rental fee scale for use of the club meeting room, restaurant, pool, pool deck, golf course, etc.

ANNUAL FEES (OTHER THAN DUES) - annual fees for use of recreational facilities (e.g. golf package, pool package, tennis package, etc.)
